Teachers, we have unveiled two highly requested new features. Students are now able to view their time spent typing per day from within the tutor. In addition, enhancements to the Teacher Portal now allow you to run custom date range reports (up to the last 30 days) on your students’ typing activity.
Time Spent Typing
In response to your most frequent request, we have launched a new graph in the Statistics section of the tutor titled, “Time Spent Typing (by day)”. This data was previously only available within the Teacher Portal. This new graph allows students to quickly gauge how much time was spent typing, by day, as an easy to read graph. The minutes represent time spent typing lessons over the last 30 days, excluding games, tests, and repeated exercises.
Custom Date Range Reports
We have received countless requests for the ability to view students’ recent typing activity. In response, we have completely overhauled the Teacher Portal’s reporting system, now allowing you to specify the date range, within the last 30 days. So for instance, it’s now possible to quickly see your students’ typing progress so far this week, last week, yesterday, and so forth. Also, you can choose “All Time” from the date range dropdown to view a summary of all progress to date.

Typing class can be a lilttle bit confusing to some people but it is really fun
I am a teacher that uses the Teacher Portal. I stronly encouraged for my students to repeat the exercises as often as they need to in order to get better with any given keys. However, their time spent repeating these exercises is not reflected in the reports!!!! WHY????? It makes no sense not to include this time in the report. The way is set up now is USELESS for me! Strongly encourage your programmers to reset the timers so that their TRUE TIME SPENT TYPING is reflected correctly.

We actually just changed our settings to allow repeated exercises to be tracked on the current day they are being typed. In the past the student would not get credit for typing when the exercises were repeated, but now they do. However, when looking at the overall time spent typing, we still are not able to include the time spent on duplicate exercises or lessons. I apologize for the “uselessness” of the report and for causing such frustration.

Is there a way to show the students progress within the typing test? Most of my students have been unablet to complete the test within the class time so when I go to reports it shows they have no test showing. I just realized this and did not write down their results from the point they had to stop.
Hi,
All three pages of the typing test must be completed in order for the results to be stored. We do not save progress midway through the test like we do in the typing lessons. Once the test is completed 2 or more time, students can go to the Statistics tab to view their progress in an easy to read graph. You can view their results from your teacher portal account after the first test is completed.
